Kites, World Cup, and the Restoration

Mission Week 56, Brazil Week 50
Hello family!
Happy 4th of July everyone! Sister M and I celebrated by making Independence Day brownies and chocolates, and then dressing up in an American flag that a member had (naturally). The diet isn't going to well...but oh well!
Another fun thing that I finally realized after being here almost a year is that people play with kites to cut each other down "JUST LIKE THE KITE RUNNER"! But seriously. Everyone from 5 year old boys to 50 year old men. It's kind of funny.
The World Cup is still going. There's another game tomorrow against Germany. We'll see how that goes, since apparently one of Brasil's star players got kneed in the back and is out for the rest of the Cup.
One thing that we started doing this week (by the counsel of our leaders) was to start teaching the Restoration to the members. We had some pretty powerful lessons. When you really understand the story of the Restoration it just makes sense. It was cool as well to be able to help some of the members feel the spirit as well.
This week, A. came to church! She's this 45 year old single C. woman who is a riot. She studied art, and apparently is an actress as well. She also talks a lot, but that's okay. She is honestly and sincerely looking though, which is a huge relief. She's been reading the Book of Mormon a ton though. Anyway, that was great.
Love you lots! Until next week!
     Sister Kemer
