Mission Week 62, Brazil Week 56
This week went by VERY fast.
Highlights probably were that
one of our investigators was finally able to go to church and he liked
it! That's always a good thing. He especially liked the hymns, which was
cool because generally people think that our hymns are different (we
don't use drums/ Brazilian gospel music). After having some difficulty
trying to figure out how we could help him, I finally realized that he
wasn't progressing because he didn't know how. We had a lesson
with him this week, breaking it down step by step how he can pray and
how he can read so that he can understand and really see how the
scriptures can be applied to his life. It worked! The next lesson he was
a lot happier and said that praying before, reading, re-reading,
writing what he understood, and then ending with a prayer really helped
him and that he noticed the difference.
Well, our investigator that could
have gotten baptized this week disappeared... we'll try to keep passing
by to see if we can find him.
Other
than that, life is going on. Right now we're teaching a young
evangelical preacher. I'm still not sure if he's really interested, if
he just wants to study Mormons, or if he's trying to slyly convert us.
He's a little different, but we'll see how it goes. I'm praying to
receive the gift of discernment on this one.
Sunday we went and visit the youth
that haven't been going to Seminary with the Ward (Church or Congregation) Seminary teacher.
Good times remembering my Seminary days!
